Landscaping

Bed work that's built on the ground, not just laid on top of it — reshaped, edged, and mulched so it still looks right next season. Milford and Southeast Michigan.

Landscaping
Sound like your property?
  • "The beds have lost their shape and the edges have disappeared."
  • "Mulch washes out of the bed every spring."
  • "The plantings are overgrown and nothing has been touched in years."
  • "We want the front of the house to look finished."
What D1 does

Landscaping, in plain terms.

Landscaping isn't our headline service, and we won't pretend otherwise. But we're already on the property with the machines and the material, and a bed is a small grading job with plants in it — so when it makes sense to do it, we do it properly.

  • Bed renovation & reshaping

Existing beds cleared, the bed line re-cut, and the grade fixed so water leaves.

  • Boulder & stone edging

Fieldstone and boulders set so the edge holds instead of migrating into the lawn.

  • Mulch & stone top-dress

Fresh mulch or decorative stone over a bed that's been prepped first.

  • Shrub & tree planting

Planted to the right depth for clay, backfilled, and watered in.

  • Removals

Overgrown shrubs and stumps taken out, roots and all where we can get to them.

How a landscaping job runs
  1. Free on-site estimate

We walk the property with you, explain the options, and give you a written number.

  2. Planned & scheduled

You get a start date. If weather or ground conditions move it, you hear from us first.

  3. Build

The crew shows up when we said. Work happens the way it was scoped.

  4. Walk-through & cleanup

We walk it with you, fix anything that isn't right, and leave the site clean.

Built for Michigan ground

Clay holds water, and beds are where it shows.

A bed cut into Southeast Michigan clay becomes a bowl if the grade isn't right — water sits, roots drown, and the mulch floats out by spring. We shape the bed to drain before anything goes in it, and set edging heavy enough that frost doesn't walk it out of line.

Questions about landscaping
Do you take landscaping-only jobs?

Sometimes, if the schedule allows. Site work comes first, and we'll tell you straight if we can't fit it.

Can you do this while you're already here for other work?

That's usually the best way to do it. One mobilization, one crew, and the beds get done while the machines are on site.
